A Personal Reflection on a Child’s Academic Performance

I have not yet stopped thinking about “my little girl, my little angel’s” academic performance for the first quarter of this school-year, 2012-2013. My main goals were, really: that she is happy in her school and that she is always healthy. Her grades were all excellent. Real hard work was involved in this.

I gave her summer lessons in science, language and mathematics and I gave her advance lessons in the Filipino subject. And she did work hard. She had nothing to prove anyway since she graduated as an outstanding student in her nursery and kindergarten years, but she did study really well during the first quarter of the school-year. If her grades were within 75 (passing grade) to 89 range, my love for her would not have changed one bit and I would not have felt disappointed. For me, her well-being is the most important.

September Month, Philippine Education and My Personal Experience

The month of September is the signal that the first semester in the college level of school-year 2012-2013 is about to end. The semestral break will start during the third week of October and it will last for two weeks. In the elementary and high school levels, the first quarter is now over and the second quarter has already started. Parents have seen the report cards of their children. There are four quarters in a school-year for elementary and high school levels. (Some schools use the trimester system.)

As for “my little girl, my little angel,” she has performed exceptionally well for the first quarter, and I am extremely happy about it and for her. Her grades in all of her 11 academic subjects are within touching distance of perfection: 95, 96, 97, 98 and 99. My main goals for her are these: that she is happy in her school as she is with her family and relatives and that she is always healthy. And she did very well, academically! She is also rated “A” in conduct, the highest grade. She is an intelligent and kind girl and pretty as well. God bless her and I pray for her.

Helping Each Other to Teach Each Other and Then Some

I have just published two art works of my little angel. She asked me to post them and I, myself, am quite excited about it. She and I consider this website as our website. So below you'll see what she has done. Later, I will collect all her works and put them tn the Selected Topic section of the Home Extension.

There will be more postings in the future. Early on, I posted on my homepage: "'Hearts Philippines and Then Some,' which is 'The Website for the Philippines.'" I don't know what others think about it, but I am quite serious about it.

Back on Its Feet

My country is back on its feet after being pummeled by super heavy rains a week ago or so. Thank God! Things are a lot better now. I am hopeful there will be better things to come.

Passing Storm

My country took a beating from a recent storm. It was horrible but things have changed for the better. And I am hopeful for good weather and better things ahead....And maybe, people can show their displeasure to Mother Nature by cleaning their surroundings everyday even when there is a storm....trying to defy it, that kind of thing.

Education and The Stormy Weather Sometimes

One month has passed since the opening of classes in the Philippines and the students are now busy with their studies, an endeavor that was sometimes interrupted by storms and typhoons and will be interrupted during this rainy season because of storms and typhoons. These storms and typhoons are no laughing matter...but most of the students will survive and go to the next higher level, and a lot of them will still do well in their studies. That is education; it is survival of the fittest, I think.
