Of National Interest and Concern: The Ebola Crisis

This is the deadly health crisis of 2014. It is affecting some countries in Africa and it has affected a few other states outside Africa. The disease may be transported to the Philippines, a country that appears ill-prepared to handle a crisis like the one in Africa. This problem may further be aggravated by the fact that there are people (including the educated ones) in my country who seem to have an aversion to or who try to discredit and to play jokes on the efficacy of the scientific, methodical approach to the solution of such problem, or who seem to be unwilling to share the benefits of advance technology. The AIDS crisis in my country is a damning testimony to this mentality.

This is the grave site of my dad, older brother and uncle, which my little angel Gabby and I as well as my mom and four other young relatives visited just before the public holidays. All Saints Day is on November 1 while All Souls Day is on November 2.
